FAQ
1. What is the setting for Black Bear Gardens programs?
Our programs are held entirely outdoors on our peaceful, private hobby farm. You'll enjoy fresh air, open spaces, our friendly chickens, lush gardens, and beautiful trails. We believe connecting with nature is key to well-being. The only indoor space available during sessions is a bathroom.

2. What about the weather?
We embrace all types of weather! We have covered areas for inclement conditions, including our "snack barn" that includes a safe and comfortable space for swaddlers and crawlers. We encourage every family to dress appropriately for the outdoors. We'll provide detailed gear lists to help you prepare for rain or shine.

3. What are the session days and times?
Our program sessions are held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursdays and Fridays.

4. How long does each session last?
Every program session is two hours long.

5. What is the cost of the program?
The full 8-week program series costs $320 per caregiver-child duo, or caregiver and siblings set. We believe in making our programs accessible, so a sliding scale is available. Please reach out to us through our contact form to learn more.

6. Is a snack provided during sessions?
Yes, a hearty, organic snack is provided for both caregivers and children during each session. This is built into our daily rhythm, and we focus on nourishing both body and mind with wholesome, delicious food.

7. How many families are in each session?
To ensure a supportive and intimate group experience, each session is limited to 3-5 caregiver-child duos. This small size allows for personalized attention, deeper connections, and strong community building among families.

8. Are the sessions tailored to each group?
Absolutely! While we have a thoughtful curriculum for each 8-week series, our facilitator, a licensed mental health professional, is highly responsive to the needs and interests of each specific group. Sessions are dynamically tailored to best support the unique dynamics, developmental stages, and mental health goals of the caregivers and children present.

9. What are the qualifications of the program founder/facilitator?
Our program's founder and primary facilitator holds a Master's degree in Social Work. She is a Licensed Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker (LAICW) in Washington State, operating under the clinical supervision of a fully Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). This ensures a professional and ethically sound approach to all aspects of the program, particularly in the areas of mental health support and family well-being.

10. I have more than one child, can I sign up?
Yes! Our programs are curated to best fit interested families, and are all mixed age to better serve the children and the experience.
